Paris Hilton has hit back at criticism that she keeps 17 dogs at her LA mansion.

The socialite is being investigated by LA's Department of Animal Services after telling chatshow host Ellen DeGeneres about her numerous pets.

It is illegal to have more than three dogs at any one residential address in LA unless it is a kennel or breeding facility.

However, Hilton claimed that her pets keep breeding and she wants to keep any new arrivals rather than separate them from their parents.

She said: "They keep having babies and I feel bad to give them away because I feel like, if I had a baby and someone gave it away it would be mean."

She insisted that she had managed to dispose of some of her pets, telling E News!: "I only have 10 dogs now. Some of my dogs had puppies, so I gave some of them away to people I really know and trust. I gave some to my stylist and to a few of my best friends, so now I'm down to 10."

944: Tell us about your business ventures for 2008.
PARIS HILTON: [smiles] Where do I start?

How about with the films you have coming out this year?
My movie The Hottie and the Nottie comes out February 8. It's a romantic comedy that's very fun and sweet. My second film is a musical called Repo! The Genetic Opera, which comes out in May. Repo! was fun because it's directed by Saw II's Darren Lynn Bousman, and it's scary. If I could describe it, I'd say it's like The Rocky Horror Picture Show meets Blade Runner meets Saw. I play Amber Sweet, a girl obsessed with plastic surgery, so in every scene I have a new nose, new eyes, etc. It will be interesting for people to see me look so different.

What television projects do you have in the works?
I'm developing an animated series with Stan Lee and MTV called Super Chick, where I get to be a super hero.

Will you be starring in another reality show?
I'm developing another one right now! But I'm also looking for shows to produce. I've been in front of the camera for so many years, so I think it would be interesting to be on the other side for a change, making creative decisions and putting a show together.

Speaking of being creative, aren't you launching your clothing line this year?
I actually have two: one international line and one for the U.S. and Canada. It's currently being sold across the nation in Macy's stores and Nordstrom, also Fred Segal, Kitson and a few others, I think. I'm also launching a shoe line this month on the same day my first movie comes out. That's my problem - sometimes I have to be in two places at once.

How many products are you currently endorsing?
Let's see. I have Dream Catchers, which are my hair extensions, a high-end beverage called Rich Prosecco, my new fragrance Can Can, my dog apparel line with Little Lily and a jewelry line with Damiani. And I'm the face of FILA Sportswear for the Korean market.

How much of your work is done in foreign markets?
The Rich Prosecco beverage hasn't even come to America yet, but it will be coming this year. We've already sold over 10 million cans in Europe. What most people don't know is that a portion of the money goes to a charitable organization that buys clean water for families around the world.

How active are you in charitable endeavors as a whole?
I've been involved in charity work since I was a child. I work with so many organizations, especially Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Everything that I do benefits a charity in some way. My dog clothes benefit various animal rescues, and other products give money to breast cancer research, multiple sclerosis or helping kids. This year, I'm looking into starting my own charity, The Paris Hilton Foundation, which will help take the charity work I want to do to the next level.

What would you say to people who think that all you do is party?
It makes me angry because people don't know the real me, and I'm a very hard worker. I travel around the world constantly promoting my projects and endorsing products. Yes, I do get paid to go to parties; in fact, I'm the person who started the whole trend of paid appearances. But when you see me at a party, I'm always working or promoting something, even if it's as simple as wearing my clothing line for the pictures.

You've said that you like to spend a lot of time with friends. Do you have many?
I cut out a lot of negative people from my life last year. I want to be around real friends who love me and want the best for me; people I can trust. It was really hard for me to find that, but I feel like the group I spent this past New Year's with are my real friends and the people I want to keep close to me. Some I've known a long time and some are new, but I feel like I've found best friends in L A, which can be hard for anyone.

What would you say is your ultimate career goal for 2008?
To continue to be hands-on with the business side of things and to be as involved as I have been in branding. I want to have an amazing year, and strive to make my personal dreams come true.

Barak Obama's Children not too keen on Paris Hilton

Washington, Feb 28 : The likes of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton have another set of critics - US Presidential hopeful Barak Obama’s daughters.

In a recent interview, Obama said that his daughters Sasha and Malia are plugged into the pop culture world, but they are not really Britney or Paris fans even though they follow all of what goes on in the entertainment world.

When asked whether his daughters ever ask about Britney Spears, Obama replied: “Actually, yeah. But they're very sensible. They're pretty down on Britney and Paris and all of that. They think that's very yuck."

Paris Hilton has confirmed that her next foray into reality TV will be a quirky attempt to find a new best friend forever.

The former "Simple Life" star will front a new MTV show in which female contestants will compete to be the socialite-turned-actress' pal.

Hilton giggles, "I'm really excited about this concept. I'm going to meet a lot of great girlfriends."

Gary Busey verbally attacks Paris Hilton - Calls her an Idiot

Actor Gary Busey has verbally attacked Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton in an interview, calling them "idiots" and "losers" and advising them to "wake up" – before deciding to slap the camera away after a request from the 11-year-old reporter to do a "shout out".

Busey was on the red carpet for the United Nations Children's Foundation Oscar after-party, when he was asked by Starzlife.com what he thought about the amount of young Hollywood celebrities falling foul of the law.

She made her name on The Simple Life - and now Paris Hilton is set to make her reality TV comeback searching for a “cool” new best friend.

“The show is going to be about her searching for a new best friend,” said a source close to the 27-year-old hotel heiress.

“Paris is tired of the haters and she’s looking for someone new. She’s looking for someone new and cool who she can trust.”

The project, which remains unnamed - is expected to be picked up by either MTV or VH1 in the US.

The new show is “going to be full of good chick drama and you will see a side of Paris not seen on Simple Life,” the source tells Us Weekly magazine.

Hilton starred in The Simple Life with pal Nicole Richie, where cameras chronicled their lives as they struggled to do manual, low-paying jobs such as cleaning rooms, doing farm work, serving meals in fast-food restaurants and working as camp counselors. It aired from 2003 to 2007.

I guess this is assuming anyone really wants to be Paris's Best Friend.

Courtney Cox models her character in a new TV Sitcom / drama after Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie

Former Friends star Courteney Cox has combined socialite pals Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie to create a high-living, party-girl character for her TV show Dirt.

Cox, who plays a ruthless tabloid editor in the hit US drama, combined Hilton and Richie’s headline-grabbing moments and created the character Milan Carlton. In the forthcoming episodes, the socialite character, who shares Hilton’s European city first name and hotel chain surname, is arrested for driving the wrong way on a freeway — the crime Richie was punished for.

Carlton also leads the paparazzi on a hair-raising chase through Hollywood. Cox says, “You’re going to be able to identify these characters pretty easily. We’re just poking fun and hopefully no one will get their feelings hurt.”

Barron Hilton with Jailbait when picked up on DUI

When Paris Hilton’s younger brother Barron was arrested for driving under the influence earlier this month, his passenger was the 16 year old daughter of Hollywood producer.

Police have revealed Superman Returns filmmaker Jon Peters’ daughter Skye was in the car with 18-year old Barron, and he wasn’t the only one driving recklessly.

California Highway Patrol officer Leon Hines claims Peters was driving when the Mercedes - registered in her name - allegedly hit another car before knocking over a gas station attendant, prior to Hilton's arrest, reports Page Six.

Barron was stopped by California police on the Pacific Coast Highway and reportedly had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. He was released on bail after being held by the cops.

Paris Hilton, whose latest movie The Hottie and the Nottie grossed just $9000 at the US box office in its opening weekend - was devastated after being told she couldn't attend the prestigious event on Sunday night.

A source said: "She cried hot, salty tears when she was banned from the Oscars. She's desperate to be taken seriously as an actress and hoped she would be able to network with film executives."

Paris Hilton, thanks to an interview on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, is under investigation for keeping too many dogs.

The Los Angeles Department of Animal Services, the report says, is looking into whether Hilton is violating a city law that limits residents to three pets, unless they are commercial breeders.

Paris told Ellen, "I have 17 dogs — lots ... They all sleep in my bed - well, not all of them, but I let some of them."

Paris said she has so many dogs because "they keep having babies, and I feel bad about giving them away."

Ellen, to her credit, urged Paris to look into spaying and neutering.... Something which should have been done to Paris' parents 20 someodd years ago.

Nicky Hilton bans her Sister Paris from coming over to her home.

Nicky revealed she has forbidden Paris from coming over, because her sister steals all her interior design ideas.

She said, “I told her she isn’t allowed to come over if she copies me.” Hotel-heiress Nicky has just bought her first house, which is located just above Hollywood’s Sunset Strip, and is pleased the décor reflects her personal taste.

She said, “I don’t want my house to look like a page you see in a catalogue. I like drama when it comes to design.” As the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, who started the Hilton Hotel chain in 1946, Nicky spent a lot of her childhood in hotels but says she prefers returning to the same house every night. After a period of fairly positive -- or at least innocuous -- news and tidbits about Paris Hilton, things have drifted downhill for the hotel heiress and her family.

Reportedly Paris' parents, Kathy and Rick Hilton, are very upset after spending a fortune (supposedly $1.5 million) on PR and marketing for Paris over the past few months -- all focused on improving Hilton's image after her release from jail.

More bad Hilton press surfaced Tuesday, with news Paris' little brother Barron, 18, was arrested for a DUI in Malibu, Calif., at 8:30 in the morning!

According to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, the teen registered a .14 blood alcohol reading at the scene. In California, anything over .08 is considered legally intoxicated for drivers over 21. At Barron's age, any blood alcohol level is considered legally drunk.

Kathy Hilton reportedly ''went bonkers'' when she learned about Barron's arrest -- compounded by the fact two men in a Nissan truck claim Hilton hit their vehicle while driving ''wildly.'' Also claiming injury was an attendant at the gas station where Hilton was finally arrested, who alleged the young heir ran into him before his Mercedes came to a stop.

The least of Hilton's current problems was the total bombing of her excreable ''The Hottie & the Nottie'' film -- released in a handful of theaters on Friday. ''That film made [Hilton's earlier] 'House of Wax' and 'Pledge This!' look like Oscar contenders by comparison,'' added the Hilton insider.

Given the public's total lack of interest in ''The Hottie'' -- likely the worst film of 2008 (Yes, I feel confident making that call already!) -- it's pretty certain Hilton's film career will end once her next picture, ''Repo! The Genetic Opera,'' comes out. That film is currently being edited.

Paris Hiltons Younger Brother "Barron Hilton" Arrested for DUI

MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — Another Hilton has landed in the gray-bar hotel. Paris Hilton's younger brother, Barron, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of drunken driving, authorities said.

Barron Hilton, 18, was stopped after a witness reported seeing a black Mercedes-Benz weaving on the Pacific Coast Highway, at times drifting into the oncoming lane, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies arrested Hilton after he pulled over and got out of the car. He was booked in Malibu, where he registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.14 percent, authorities said. The legal limit in California is 0.08 percent.

He had a female passenger in the vehicle who had apparently been driving earlier and might have been involved in an accident, the Sheriff's Department said. She was not identified, and a call to the California Highway Patrol, which was investigating the woman's role, was not immediately returned.

Hilton was carrying a fake driver's license and was also arrested for investigation of carrying a falsified state document, said sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

The Sheriff's Department did not know whether he had a lawyer. There was no immediate response to a telephone message left for a Pasadena attorney who represented Paris Hilton in her drunken-driving case.

Barron Hilton was released from jail shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday on $20,000 bail and was to be arraigned in April, Sgt. Diane Hecht said.

As word of his arrest spread, nearly a dozen paparazzi photographers swarmed the sheriff's station.

Paris Hilton pleaded no contest last year to alcohol-related reckless driving and was sentenced to 45 days in jail. The 26-year-old reality show star and hotel heiress served a little more than two weeks.

Paris Hilton has lost her pet cat "Prada" after failing to pick up her cat from the vet. Apparently, Paris dropped Prada off to get neutered at the end of January and when she failed to return for the cat, the vet called the woman Hilton adopted the cat from last year.

Now, catwoman Kris Kelly insists the hotel heiress has lost the feline - because, as far as she's concerned, Hilton has abandoned it. Kelly says she even tried to contact Hilton in a bid to find out what happened - but Paris hasn't returned her calls. Kelly says: "It's a clear-cut case of abandonment."

Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan get into pissy little spat at pre grammy party

Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton had a huge cat-fight at Timbaland's pre-Grammy party on Saturday. The hotel heiress and the 'Mean Girls' actress, who used to be close friends, both attended the producer's bash at Hollywood nightclub Avalon and were not happy to see each other.

Sources claim Lindsay pointed at Paris and said: "What the hell is that bltch doing here? I didn't know she was on the list." To which, Paris replied: "Fvck off you bltch."

Lindsay and Paris were both hoping to convince Timbaland, who has worked with Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado and 50 Cent, to revive their faltering music careers.

Toy Paris Hilton doll being sold by German Company

German company Simba Toys has confirmed it is creating toy dolls based on Paris Hilton.

The US socialite has helped style the products, which will come with silver highlights, mini-skirts, evening dresses and a mini MP3 player.

Juergen Deschner, the firm's executive, has confirmed the dolls will go on sale around Europe later this year.

The first dolls were sold at Germany's Nuremberg Toy Fair on Wednesday.

Hilton has signed a 2-year deal with Simba.

The Simple Life star previously turned down an offer to have a sex doll made in her image.

Paris Hilton expresses Sympathy for Britney

Paris Hilton expressed sympathy for her friend Britney Spears while at the premier of her new movie The Hottie and the Nottie. Paris felt bad that Spears was not able to attend the event. "I feel bad for Britney, she's a lovely girl."

"I wish she was here tonight. I hope she gets well soon!" she added. Adrian Grenier, who was Paris' man for the night, also added his sympathy for Britney. "Hollywood is a tough town. Paris to star in the L-Word - "But I'm not a Lesbian" she says

Socialite heiress Paris Hilton is set to star in a risque role in a lesbian series called The L Word.

Hilton revealed that she is planning to start off as a guest on the show and then maybe move on to a more regular part.

She is happy about the possibility of appearing on the show, but is uncertain whether she has to play a gay part or even bare all for any scenes.

"It's true. I have no idea what kind of character I'll be playing, but it's a good show," she said.

Rapper 50 Cent reduces Paris Hilton to Tears

Rap superstar 50 Cent kicked Paris Hilton offstage and reduced her to tears during a pre-Super Bowl concert on Thursday.

Hilton hosted the bash for 944 magazine in Scottsdale, Arizona and was stunned when the headliner turned on her.

The two star attractions have been romantically linked in the past, but there was no love lost when Hilton tried to steal the show.

After 50 Cent namechecked her during his performance, Hilton climbed onstage to dance, but was promptly told to "Get the f**k off the stage" by the angry star.

Onlookers tell PageSix.com the outburst prompted Hilton to break down in tears, which was captured on film by photographers at the event.

The party was one of a number of bashes taking place in Arizona this weekend to mark the Super Bowl showdown between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants on Sunday.

Paris Hilton blamed for stealing designs for her footwear line

New York, Feb 3 (ANI): Paris Hilton has not yet launched her range of footwears, but fashionistas have started to blame her for stealing designs from other shoemakers.

It is said the hotel heiress cheap clogs resemble the footwear by luxe SoHo label Te Casan, whose shoes are so expensive that they are produced in limited quantities and each pair is stamped with its own number.

One fashionable lady found a unique pair of shoes she bought from Te Casan at an expensive price was now available under Hiltons line at a cheaper price.

“I own a pair (of Te Casans) and happily paid handsomely for them because they were unique, or so I thought! I was a little shocked to see one of my beloved pairs of shoes being credited to Paris’ new line,” the New York Post quoted the lady, as stating in an e-mail.

David Letterman sucks up to Paris Hilton - Appologises for his actions during last interview

Paris Hilton's Friday night guest appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman differed from her last, in September, when the CBS host couldn't stop badgering her about her just-finished jail sentence.

"We have a lovely woman who's been in prison," Letterman said Friday, explaining why he previously behaved the way he did. "I put those two things together and my head starts spinning."

Rehashing how he verbally accosted Hilton the last time, "I continued to press the point," Letterman acknowledged – though Hilton had made it clear she was finished talking about her life behind bars.

"I thought I was hilarious," Letterman recalled, until others the next day told him, "No, you were an ass----."

He also heard Hilton was hurt and vowed never to return to his show. So he called her, wrote a letter and sent flowers, which she called "sweet." And he cajoled her into returning to his show, which she did Friday – one week before her new movie, The Hottie and the Nottie, opens.


Don't Try It Again
"It's like a first date," said Letterman, admitting he was "on probation." As Hilton, in a yellow dress, made her stage entrance, the Late Show band played "I Love Paris."

"I offended you. I'm not here to make enemies, honestly," Letterman, 60, told Hilton, 26. "I'm terribly sorry."

"Yes," said Hilton. "And you better not try it again. I hope you got the jail thing out of your system."

Their bitter past behind them, Letterman said, "What else would you like to talk about? Let's talk about something fun."

That included her new movie (she plays the "hottie," Letterman explained), her new shoe line, her five fragrances and her cellphone video game – something that seemed to stump her host.

"What is the game?" he asked. "How do you know you've won?"
