Paris Hilton wants to replace Nicole Richie and as the world of Paris turns she is not afraid to take off her top and her bottoms to promote it. The socialite is headed back to Reality TV and she wants a new best friend as it appears that Nicole might have her hands full for the next eighteen years or so. She did mention in one interview that no one can replace Nicole and the two will remain friends.

The pair are famous for their feuding but at the moment it appears that they are pals. Still Paris is seeking some publicity for her new show that will reportedly be in MTV or VH1. As luck would have it, she just stripped down to next to nothing for 944 magazine, posing in just a skimpy pair of Calvin Klein white undies. Good timing.

One would think that would be sexy but she has been panned already for the cover shot. You will have to look for yourself and decide if it is hot or not, as Paris would say. She has said that she is tired of the haters but it certainly seems like the buzz that once surrounded Hilton has quieted and it was right after her jail stint. Still she is tired of the party girl label.

"It makes me angry because people don't know the real me, and I'm a very hard worker." Says the 26-year-old. "I travel around the world constantly promoting my projects and endorsing products. Kathy Hilton was furious that Paris allowed herself to be drawn into a snarky snit with Lindsay Lohan at a pre-Grammys bash Friday in Los Angeles. Granted, LiLo reportedly started it by taking a swipe at ''The Hottie & the Nottie" and loudly complaining about Hilton being at the People magazine event.

Hilton didn't let it go, telling a pal -- well within Lohan's earshot -- ''Aren't they changing the title of Lindsay's last film ['I Know Who Killed Me'] to 'I Know Who Killed My Career'?''

That led to a lusty exchange of expletives before friends separated the two.

I understand that Mama Hilton herself unleashed quite the stream of rough language on Paris after a tabloid TV reporter called, asking for a reaction to the Paris-Lindsay catfight.

More bad Hilton press surfaced Tuesday, with news Paris' little brother Barron, 18, was arrested for a DUI in Malibu, Calif., at 8:30 in the morning!

According to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, the teen registered a .14 blood alcohol reading at the scene. In California, anything over .08 is considered legally intoxicated for drivers over 21. At Barron's age, any blood alcohol level is considered legally drunk.

Kathy Hilton reportedly ''went bonkers'' when she learned about Barron's arrest -- compounded by the fact two men in a Nissan truck claim Hilton hit their vehicle while driving ''wildly.'' Also claiming injury was an attendant at the gas station where Hilton was finally arrested, who alleged the young heir ran into him before his Mercedes came to a stop.

The least of Hilton's current problems was the total bombing of her excreable ''The Hottie & the Nottie'' film -- released in a handful of theaters on Friday. ''That film made [Hilton's earlier] 'House of Wax' and 'Pledge This!' look like Oscar contenders by comparison,'' added the Hilton insider.

Given the public's total lack of interest in ''The Hottie'' -- likely the worst film of 2008 (Yes, I feel confident making that call already!) -- it's pretty certain Hilton's film career will end once her next picture, ''Repo! The Genetic Opera,'' comes out. That film is currently being edited.

NOT ENGAGED, BUT ... I hear Ryan Reynolds has proposed to Scarlett Johansson, and she's said yes. Even so, the actress' people insist she and Reynolds are definitely not officially engaged.

SAD NEWS: Of all the many key participants in Chicago's social, arts, civic and charitable circles, Alice Skilling was one of the most enthusiastic boosters of good causes I've ever met.

Like her legion of admirers, I will miss her ever-cheerful attitude and intelligence. Her passing this week is a tremendous loss.

Paris Hilton stirs up Sundance in her own media whoring way

Paris Hilton made quite a splash at the Sundance Film Festival, getting back to her old ways.

The hotel heiress made her huge appearance at the Sundance FIlm Festival on Sunday night. She took to partying at the Sundance Film Festival right away, making a big gala out of it and causing quite a bit of attention being put towards her.

She arrived in Park City, Utah for the big event and many are stating that the "old" Paris returned to form as she was truly partying the night away.

She spent most of the night inside the Stereo NYC Lounge, as Paris quickly turned the streets of Utah into more of a Hollywood-type scene.

She quickly sped away after leaving the club in her SUV.

Needless to say nobody enjoyed the Sundance Film Festival as much as Paris Hilton it would seem.

Singer/actress Kelly Osbourne has blasted Hollywood party girls like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton for their reckless behavior, insisting their need for attention is absurd.

The former wild child, 23, has maintained a relatively quiet life since moving from Los Angeles to her native Britain in 2006, and she insists the newest breed of celebrities have taken their excessive partying to new extremes.

She says, "I think for a lot of famous people press attention is an addiction. Those girls -- Britney, Lindsay (Lohan), Paris and so on -- are competing for the attention. It's like, 'Who's going to get arrested next, get pregnant, go out without knickers and get on this week's cover of Us Weekly?'

"It's like a contest of self-loathing and I just don't understand it. How has this turned into the fashionable thing to do? I would be absolutely mortified if I got arrested -- I would be terrified of phoning my parents and telling them, and it would completely change me for the rest of my life."

Paris now promoting shoe's for her "big ugly feet"

Paris Hilton, the socialite, actress and singer recently turned fashion icon, is scheduled to appear at South Coast Plaza in February to promote her new line of high-end footwear.

Kinda funny considering Fredric Von Anhalts' comments on Paris Hiltons' foot size and lack of sexual appeal.


The Paris Hilton Footwear Collection, which offers spring, summer, fall and winter lines, and ranges in price from $59 to $195, will go on sale Jan. 29 at Macy’s, collection spokeswoman Emily Weiner-Cohen said. Hilton plans to make a personal appearance from 3 to 6 p.m. Feb. 8 to sign autographs for the first 200 people to purchase her shoes after the first day they go on sale.

The Paris Hilton Footwear Collection includes stilettos, flats, wedges and sandals, with sizes ranging from 5 to 11.

Weiner-Cohen said she expected a packed house for Hilton, who will sign photographs of herself rather than the shoes.

“The first 200 people who buy shoes from the 29th to the 8th are guaranteed to meet her, so we’re expecting more than 200” people, Weiner-Cohen said.
